The engines will bolt to any GM transmission. Our Harnesses include connections for installing a 4L60E Automatic Overdrive Transmission. Earlier pressure-shifted transmissions such as the 700R4, TH350, and TH400 will work easily with an adapter for the TV cable and Modified Flex Plate. Manual Transmissions will need a flywheel, clutch assembly, and Adapter Kit. Things to consider when installing a Gen III V8 Engine: All the fasteners are metric. The heads of a Gen III are wider than an early GM V8, so the exhaust manifolds are tough to fit between the frame rail on most vehicles. A minimum of a 25" inside frame width is required for stock exhaust manifold installation. To solve the exhaust manifold problem, we offer Tube Headers in a variety of configurations including Custom Designs. There are 2 additional configurations of Gen III stock Exhaust Manifold available. Please remember that the Gen III engines came STOCK in Camaros, Firebirds, Corvettes, GM Trucks and SUVs. Fuel tank modification may be required if your tank did not come with a Return Line..
